Social Communities

Your platform knows who registered. It doesn't know who's online right now.

Account sharing, impersonation, and unverified presence are the defining integrity challenges for social platforms. Verification at registration only solves part of the problem.

The Problem

Social platforms invest in onboarding verification β€” identity checks, age assurance, account confirmation flows. What they cannot currently verify is whether the registered account holder is the person operating the account in any given session. Account sharing is endemic. Impersonation of real users causes harm to individuals and erodes platform trust. For platforms with community safety obligations β€” particularly around minors β€” the inability to verify who is present in a session is not just a product problem, it is an emerging regulatory one. The Online Safety Act's children's safety codes are already moving in the direction of continuous presence assurance.

Account Sharing

Registered users share credentials. A verified account operated by a different person β€” a minor, an impersonator, a third party β€” is completely invisible to current platform controls.

Unverified Presence

Platforms know who registered. They have no mechanism to verify who is active in a session β€” creating integrity risks that extend from individual harm to regulatory exposure.

Regulatory Direction

The Online Safety Act's children's safety codes are moving towards continuous presence assurance. Platforms that cannot verify who is in a session face increasing scrutiny from Ofcom.

Verified presence at the session layer

YEO CFR SDK

The YEO CFR SDK enables social platforms to verify continuous presence β€” confirming the account holder is the person in the session, passively and without friction for legitimate users, with no biometric data stored centrally.
